How American Bank Supports Local Causes and Community Connections
Celebrating the partnerships, traditions, and events bringing our neighbors together in 2026.
A conversation with a college student. An afternoon supporting cancer patients and their families. A rodeo, a Mardi Gras celebration, or a Tuesday evening spent cheering on a trivia team. Each offers an opportunity to get to know the people who make our communities feel like home.
At American Bank, those connections are an important part of community banking. Our team lives and works alongside the individuals, families, and business owners we serve. Participating in local events allows us to support meaningful causes, meet new neighbors, and spend time together.
Throughout 2026, that involvement has taken many forms. Behind each sponsorship and gathering is a shared purpose: being present in the communities we call home.
Supporting Cancer Research and Patient Assistance
American Bank was proud to sponsor the Al Copeland Foundation’s Golf Fest, held September 11 at Beau Chene Country Club. The foundation supports cancer research, assistance for patients and their families, and cancer awareness and prevention. Its annual tournament brings supporters together around that mission.
Our support also included serving as a Margaritaville Sponsor for Cocktails for a Cause, benefiting the Al Copeland Foundation–Cancer Association of Louisiana Patient Assistance Fund.
With music from Category 6 and generous community participation, the event brought people together to support those facing cancer. American Bank’s Kimberly Shirley joined the effort as a celebrity bartender, contributing her time and energy to the afternoon.
Both events gave our team an opportunity to participate personally while supporting work that matters to patients and their families.
Supporting Local Nonprofits and Opportunities for Families
American Bank served as presenting sponsor of the third annual MKO Foundation and Mystic Krewe of Olympia Charity Golf Tournament, held September 24 at Tchefuncta Country Club. The MKO Foundation Fund raises financial support for local nonprofits with the goal of strengthening the Northshore community.
We also supported New Heights Therapeutic Riding Center at its 007 License to Ride Summer Gala. The evening celebrated the center’s work with individuals and families and its commitment to creating opportunities and building confidence.
These gatherings help connect local organizations with people and businesses who care about their missions. For our team, they are also opportunities to learn more about the needs of our neighbors and the work taking place to serve them.
Celebrating Community Traditions
Local traditions give people a reason to come together across generations. American Bank was pleased to support two events that brought plenty of community spirit in 2026.
At the St. Ben’s Stampede Rodeo, our team enjoyed being part of a lively, community-driven weekend. Events like the Stampede create shared experiences for families and neighbors while giving local supporters a chance to participate in the fun.
American Bank was also honored to sponsor Carnival Couture, hosted by the Junior League of Greater Covington. The celebration offered an opportunity to connect with the community and enjoy the spirit of the Mardi Gras season.
Whether gathering for a rodeo or celebrating Carnival, we appreciate the organizers, volunteers, and participants who keep these local traditions going.
Connecting With Students and Celebrating Women
At Southeastern Louisiana University’s Get Engaged Fest, our team met students, introduced them to American Bank, and shared how we serve the local community.
Campus events can be a first introduction to businesses and organizations beyond the classroom. They also give our team a chance to listen, answer questions, and become a familiar face. As students move through college and prepare for their careers, we want them to feel comfortable getting to know their local bank.
Our team also celebrated EmpowerHER Life’s third anniversary, with American Bank sponsoring the event’s photo booth. We enjoyed capturing memories and connecting with women, community leaders, and local partners.
Both occasions created space for new introductions and conversations. We were grateful to meet the people participating and help celebrate the connections these organizations make possible.
Making Time for Everyday Community
Some relationships grow through a shared cause. Others begin with a trivia question and a few laughs.
Throughout September, American Bank’s Trivia Night takeover at the Columbia St. Tap Room brought our team and community together on Tuesday evenings for friendly competition. Participants formed teams, cheered on the AB Krewe, and helped make the month memorable.
Our Mandeville team deserves a special thank-you for showing up week after week. We also appreciate everyone who joined us, played along, and spent part of their evening with our team.
These informal gatherings matter, too. They give us time to know one another outside the workday and enjoy being part of the same community.
Continuing the Connections
Every event depends on people willing to organize, volunteer, participate, and contribute. American Bank is grateful to stand alongside the local organizations and neighbors who make these experiences possible.
For our team, community involvement means showing up, listening, and staying connected. Whether we meet you at a fundraiser, on campus, at a local celebration, or inside a branch, we look forward to continuing the conversation.
