American Bank will be closed on Thursday, November 27th for Thanksgiving Day. The Coushatta location will be closed Friday, November 28th. Drive-Thru lanes at the South Louisiana branches will be open from 9am-12pm on Friday, November 28th.
Please use our Night Depositories or ATMs in Mandeville, Covington, Terrytown, Hammond, and Coushatta for deposits. All ATMs are available for withdrawals. ACH and Mobile Deposits will not be processed until Friday, the 28th.

Events in the Community
Chillin with the Chamber
American Bank employees spent a Friday night "Chillin' with the Chamber." The Tangipahoa Chamber of Commerce hosted an evening at the Chappapeela Sports Park Gymnasium with live music and delicious food and drinks from local vendors. Funds raised from a silent auction, raffles, and more helped the chamber maintain the historic Hammond Train Depot and fund essential Chamber programs and services.
Northshore Food Bank Drive
American Bank is proud to support the Professional Women of St. Tammany and Northshore Food Bank in their mission to collect 500+ food items for local families in need.
Our Covington and Mandeville branches encouraged employees and customers alike to join in the fight against food insecurity by hosting a food drive benefiting the Northshore Food Bank. Last year, we had collected 389lbs of non-expired, unopened, non-perishable food and goods as well as additional monetary donations. Patriot the Jeep transported all the groceries to the food bank in style! We were grateful to be able to help feed families in need alongside our customers.
Thanking Our Local Heroes
American Bank teammates thanked local first responders by delivering pizza and swag bags to St. Tammany Parish Fire District 12, the Covington Police, the St. Tammany Sheriff’s Office, and the Covington Fire Department. Thank you to these essential workers for their incredible service and for keeping our community safe!
Sparks in the Park
We celebrated the 4th of July at Bougue Falaya Park's annual Sparks in the Park event in Covington! The free festival hosted families with food, music, and of course, fireworks. Employees handed out American Bank rubber duckies and glow sticks at our sponsor booth!
Customer Appreciation Day
Our amazing customers joined us for Customer Appreciation Day at our Terrytown Branch! We loved having the opportunity to chat with them in a relaxed atmosphere over delicious food catered by Nga Vu and Shawn Tran.
Golf Tournaments
We’re always willing to get a golf round in for a good reason! In the fall, American Bank employees will participate in a few golf tournaments benefiting local charities, like the American's Hero Golf Classic, benefiting the incredible Gary Sinise Foundation, which provides vital programs, services, and events for our brave wounded veterans.
"Bling a Pair to Save a Pair"
The Krewe Da Cha Chas hosts an annual "Bling a Pair to Save a Pair" breast cancer awareness fundraiser that American Bank employees love to attend. Proceeds were donated to breast cancer care throughout Tangipahoa Parish.
Ballin' 4 OPTIONS, Inc.
American Bank attends Ballin’ 4 >OPTIONS, Inc.'s Charity Basketball Game each year. This event, dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities, showcases the hard work and determination of two awesome teams—the Orange Rockets and the Purple Knights. With over 15 practices leading up to the game, everyone displays amazing skills and sportsmanship. Proceeds from the event benefit OPTIONS Enrichment – Wellness and Transportation programs, helping over 100 people with disabilities engage in recreational activities every week.
Toys for Tots
American Bank proudly supports the Toys for Tots Drive each holiday season. We welcome employees and customers to bring a new, unwrapped toy to their local branch to help make the holidays brighter for children in their community.

Girod Street Stroll
American Bank teammates had an amazing time at the Girod Street Stroll! Hosted by the Old Mandeville Business Association, the event brought the best of Old Mandeville to life — from classic Bourbon cocktails like Mint Juleps and Old Fashioneds to creative vodka and tequila drinks at over 40 vibrant stroll stops.

American Bank employee Richelle Conway was selected to be a member of the Class of 2025 of the prestigious Leadership Jefferson program by the Jefferson Chamber Foundation. Leadership Jefferson is a 9-month initiative that empowers emerging leaders in our community to drive positive change. Its interactive workshops expose participants to local leaders and activists working to resolve critical issues, with session topics including civic and community engagement, healthcare, education and workforce development, equity and inclusion, criminal justice, and more.

Community Wins
The Community Wins Foundation aims to raise awareness and funding for local non-profit organizations in the Greater New Orleans Area. Established in 2021, the foundation focuses on supporting organizations that were significantly impacted by COVID-19 and could not host events to raise funds. Through various events held throughout the year, they promote philanthropy, action, and leadership to strengthen the community.
STARC of Louisiana, Inc.
STARC is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing a lifetime of services, training, advocacy, resources, and community connections for individuals with disabilities in St. Tammany and surrounding parishes. With over 35 programs, including early intervention, daycare, respite care, vocational training, and residential living, STARC supports more than 1,000 individuals and their families in achieving greater well-being and independence.
